One hundred years ago, aviation history took a giant leap forward. The first transatlantic flight departed from Spain and crossed the South Atlantic (with stopovers) to reach Argentina, just months before american aviator Charles Lindbergh made the first solo transatlantic flight.
After that flight, the dancer “Shorty” George Snowden was asked what dance move he was performing, and he famously replied, “It’s the Lindy Hop,” alluding to Lindbergh’s “hop.”
